Back in Tucson. Tomorrow is my first day as a graduate student at The University of Arizona. I'm all moved into my apartment after getting back from my trip with only three days to spare. Sorry for not posting many pictures for the last few weeks, I was in the midwest and didn't have nearly as many photogenic places to take pictures of as I did on the west coast. Here are just a couple picture from my last week in texas.

This was one of three raccoons that lived in the tree next to the cabin in eastern Oklahoma that my family rented. They weren't scared of us at all, they would walk right up on the porch and try to take things from us.

We drove through Paris, Texas on the way back from the cabin so of course we had to see the Eiffel Tower, as you can see it is not quite as big as the one in Paris, France.

Picked up my friend Sarah from Denver International Airport yesterday. Today and tomorrow we are rock climbing in the Rocky Mountains and tomorrow night we're going to The Avett Brothers concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO.

Somehow we managed to find the one campsite on the front range that wasn't on fire. Pretty awesome area.

One of the many tunnels through the mountains, pretty awesome to drive through to see what the next section of valley will bring.

The hardware that got me across the tyrolean hanging above clear creek, just west of Golden.

Me, almost across the tyrolean getting to the landing for one of the climbs that we are doing this weekend. Today we mostly scouted because it was raining all day.

Pretty happy to be safely across the river and to see that the landing is plenty big to belay.

The rock face we'll be climbing tomorrow, if you look close you can even see me.

Sarah crossing the tyrolean, she had a better technique than I did.

Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks were both awesome, though Yellowstone is much more famous I thought Grand Teton was a lot more scenic.

The Gallatin River just outside Bozeman, MT.

If you look close you can see the calves, they are smaller obviously, but also a redish brown color.

The decking around the geysers and hot springs at yellowstone.

The living bacteria from the hotsprings

Old Faithful not erupting, I got there right after it went off and didn't want to wait around to see it since there were thousands of people around. I'm sure you can look up a eruption picture on google if you are interested;)

Them Grand Tetons...

I don't know what this peak is called, but it was my favorite out of all the peaks I saw in the Tetons.

Today I am heading to Fort Collins to visit some friends and do some rock climbing before a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater on Friday, stay tuned for some pictures of Colorado.

Seattle to Coeur d'Alene, Id was an awesome drive. There were stands selling cherries most of the way, I pretty much ate my weight in cherries.

The sunset over Lake Coeur d'Alene.

More of the sunset from my campsite

They sure have a lot of rules here in northern Idaho...

If there's anything that I learned in elementary school, when the rules don't work, LIE.

The Continental divide.

Tonight I'm in Bozeman, Montana and tomorrow I am heading to Yellowstone.

Puget Sound and Seattle

This was the view from my camp ground at Belfair State Park, Washington

The air craft carriers in Port Orchard, Washington with the Cascade Mountains in the background.

The 360 degree view from the top of the space needle:
 Puget Sound

Downtown Seattle, they said that the tallest building, the Columbia Tower could be completely submerged in the deepest part of the harbor standing straight up. That means the harbor is over 1000 feet deep.
Century Link Field and Safeco Field

This guy was hanging off the wall behind Pikes Place Market.

The gum wall.

It was the 50th anniversary of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, which the Space Needle was built for.

The Monorail going through the Frank Gary designed Experience Music Project building.

I liked that in this huge pile of guitars at the EMP there was a single mandolin hanging out, it was the twin of my new (to me) Kentucky Mandolin.

All of the horror movie art from the horror film exhibit at the EMP.

The head of the Terminator robot from the original Terminator movie in the Sci Fi exhibit in the EMP

The warp speed entrance into the Sci Fi exhibit.

One of my favorite pictures from Seattle, though I'm not completely sure what it is.
